The packing begins
It has been harder than I thought to get everything accomplished that needs to be done before leaving. That was contributed to heavily by Lisa being in Seattle for the past few days. Both Hayden and I forget that she quietly and efficiently has packed just about every trip’s bags in the past 20 years.
I did manage to get the things done I needed to (doubtlessly I have forgotten something). I called Al McNeil to schedule a lunch in September when I return, made arrangements for lunch with Mark Mays also for September when I return. I remembered to call the pharmacy about getting enough medicine for the trip, they did a great job of taking care of things for me. I even called for an inhaler as I’m sure the pollens in the UK will give me trouble again – as they did in 2005.
I had a long chat with Garrison today – I mean really long. He is sounding happy, though I still don’t understand what he is doing, I guess I am finding it easier to just let it wash over me, I have to say that finding a way to be less disapproving certainly feels better. I’m not sure disapproval was doing anyone any good – it certainly didn’t impact his behavior.
About 90min left before heading out to pick up Lisa at the airport, then with luck Hayden will have drifted back in from the fields and we can get some packing done in earnest. He hasn’t even rounded up clothes to wash yet!
